About this site
This is yet another incarnation of the "Fred's home" web site.
It has been a static HTML site for a long time, then went through a brief attempt at getting Mambo (which you probably want to stay away from) to work and is now slowly being ported to Drupal. Drupal is much more useable while still being quite clean and hackable. However you will have to hack it to make it do what you want, it's more of a platform than a ready to use "one size fits all" kind of solution.
Other than that the site is mostly meant for testing and occasionally publishing data. The licensing on what is published here can vary wildly so if a given page isn't clear, you might want to check with me if you want to reuse anything. Oh, and yes, I am French, this is just written in English because that's what most people seem to understand nowadays. In fifteen years I'll probably have to rewrite it in Chinese... 
Currently the site's content is in both languages (French and English) according to what I fancy at a given moment. It should be tagged accordingly.
